Email Configuration
Configuring your E-mail Account
In most email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), go to Tools > Accounts. There you will find a link to add a new account. There are many optional features available to you in email clients but only a few are required.
You will need to enter the following information in the create wizard:
- Name
- Email address
- Account/Username (your full email address)
- Password
- Incoming mail server (POP3)
- If you have an @acceleration.net email address, use mail.acceleration.net
- If you have your own domain-name/website, use mail.YourDomain.com. For example, if your domain is FancyWidgets.com, use mail.FancyWidgets.com.
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
- If you have an @acceleration.net email address, use mail.acceleration.net
- If you have your own domain-name/website, use mail.YourDomain.com. For example, if your domain is FancyWidgets.com, use mail.FancyWidgets.com.
If you do not have internet connectivity through Acceleration, you may need to change your outgoing SMTP port setting from 25 to 8025. You can generally find this option under the "More Settings"->"Advanced" tab within your email client. If you're unable to successfully send out mail, this modification is most likely required.
