Broadband
Acceleration provides a full suite of broadband products,
from ADSL connections for small business to large
private networks consisting of ADSL, SDSL, T1, Metro Ethernet, and DS3 links.
Acceleration started it's broadband network in Gainesville,
Florida back in 1999. This consisted of primarily line-share
ADSL for cities such as Gainesville, Keystone Heights, Chiefland,
Newberry, and Cedar Key. Before that time, the only high-speed access
you could purchase was a T1 line, which provided a 1.5Mbps
bi-direction link and is still used today for data and voice critical
networks. However, T1 links were cost prohibitive for the small
business client. With the introduction of line-share ADSL and later
dedicated ADSL and SDSL, Acceleration was able to provide an
inexpensive bandwidth delivery technology to just about any size
business within our service footprint.
Over the next couple of years, Acceleration would expand their
ADSL, SDSL, and T1 footprint beyond Gainesville and the
immediate surrounding markets, by adding interconnections with Embarq,
NewEdge Networks, Covad Communications, Verizon, AT&T Southeast,
Level 3 Communications, and twTelecom (formerly Time Warner
Telecom). This made it possible for Acceleration to service clients
all over Florida, such as SDSL and T1 clients in Tampa, Jacksonville,
Orlando and additional capabilities in markets like Ocala, Lake City,
Orange Park, and even hard to reach rural markets like Starke and
Archer. Many of these new and much larger interconnections (mostly DS3
and OC3) required Acceleration to expand it's own facilities and in
2003 Acceleration opened an ATM super node in Orlando, Florida at 380
Lake Destiny (Level 3). Later we would expand our backbone network to
reach NAP of the Americas in Miami, 56 Marietta in Atlanta, and
recently a private ATM node in Boulder, Colorado. Operating it's own
nationwide ATM network, Acceleration is able to provide advanced
services that most ISP's cannot. For instance, truly private networks
using combinations of ADSL, SDSL, T1,Metro Ethernet, and DS3 from
multiple vendors. PRI and T1 backhaul services via circuit emulation
over our private ATM network. Inexpensive point-to-point T1
connections between offices across the country. Or, just a one-stop
source for covering all your locations with inexpensive broadband
solutions, supported by one company and provided on a single bill.
If you manage a corporate network with many
locations, we strongly encourage you to review our
Accelerated Private Network (APN) product. This is our flagship
broadband product, leveraging the best capabilites of our private ATM
network and numerous vendor interconnections. Acceleration may be one
of only a few ISP's nationwide that can provide a true, private Layer
2 network. Other ISP's utilize VPN's or MPLS to accomplish what our
network already can provide natively, with no special protocols or
encryption. Typically the cost of an APN network is about the same as
what a business would pay for regular Internet connections at all
their locations, so it's like getting a private network capability for
free and without additional "managed Internet" costs typically
associated with such networks. Acceleration is able to do this because
of the intelligent design of it's network, whereas most ISP's never
matured into thinking of ADSL, SDSL, and T1's as a data transport
mediums and think of it as just a way to get Internet to a
building. You might call these regular Internet pipes "dumb pipes",
where as we are able to use these links to provide advanced data and
voice transport services, including QoS and private wide area
networks.
For the small to medium business client,
Acceleration can provide a full business package consisting of ADSL or
SDSL, website hosting, and email. Because we have such a large suite
of broadband and website products, we'll have a solution that fits
you. We're not likely to be the least expensive option, but we will
deliver the greatest value for your money. If you are tired of dealing
with inefficient call center personnel with your current ISP or the
lengthy outages they experience, you're going to love working with
us. We don't have a call center, we don't have Tier 1 support. When
you contact us, you'll be working directly with a network or server
administrator, or a specialist that can deal effectively with your
specific issue. We don't believe in shielding our best personnel from
our clients. Rather, we make our best personnel the first person you
talk too. The idea being we can get your issue more quickly resolved
and done right the first time, so that you can get back to running
your business. We value our client's time, that is a fundamental
difference with our service as compared to others. If you rely heavily
on your broadband and website services and value your time as a
business owner (or the time of your staff), then we will be a great
fit. If your Internet services are not that important to you or you
don't mind being on the phone for hours with your "tech support", then
we may be more than you need and you may as well save a few bucks and
go with more of a bulk broadband or website solution. In a world of
ever degrading customer service, outsourced call center operations
abroad, and completely impersonal relationships with clients,
Acceleration has chosen a different path. It costs us more to run that
type of operation, but we're highly efficient. This means the
increased cost to you is minimal, but the value you receive is
significantly higher than other ISP's and certainly the large
telephone and cable companies. Acceleration will also be better suited
to handle your needs as you grow with the availability of our more
advanced service options.
